Get-rid-of-Bubbles Guide

Bubbles in epoxy resin can sometimes happen (even with the best epoxy formula) and detract from the final appearance of your project. Fortunately, there are a few common solutions you can consider to get rid of them.

  1. Heat: If you have a heat gun or a torch, you can gently heat the surface of the resin. This will cause the bubbles to rise to the surface and eventually pop. This method is effective, but it requires careful handling to avoid damaging the surface of the resin.
  2. Stirring: Another solution is to continuously stir the resin mixture to incorporate any trapped air and prevent bubbles from forming. This is a simple and straightforward method, but it can be time-consuming, especially if you have a large surface area to cover.
  3. Vacuum degassing: For more precision, you can use a vacuum pump to remove any trapped air from the resin mixture. This method requires special equipment, but it's effective and efficient.
  4. Blowing: If you have a straw, you can blow air onto the surface of the resin to pop any bubbles that have formed. This method is quick and easy, but it can be messy and you need to be careful not to blow too hard and damage the surface of the resin.
  5. Chemical additives: Denatured alcohol is one of the chemical we know works well with crafting project. This is a great alternative to all the methods mentioned above if you're creating something with pieces covered by epoxy that cannot be moved or heated. Our preferred method is to add the chemical in a spray bottle and spray it to the surface of the epoxy. This method is convenient and effective, but it's important to follow the manufacturer's instructions and use the appropriate amount of additive for your specific project.

It's important to experiment with different methods to find the one that works best for your specific project. Every resin mixture is unique, and what works for one project may not work for another. You may need to try a few different methods to get the results you want, but with a little patience and persistence, you can achieve a flawless, bubble-free finish.
